I’m waving the white flag. I give up. Winter won this year, which means now it can go away….I hope….LOL. I really can’t remember getting so much snow, in such a short amount of time, ever. Usually we get one, maybe two big dumps of it, but this year we’ve seen a storm every week for about 4-5 weeks. As I’ve mentioned to some of you, I have a solution that benefits all of us….Hear me out…I will be holding a meeting with Santa Claus and Mother Nature, and I will be giving up Summer and Christmas so we can get rid of Winter and just have Spring and Fall all year. Santa can retire, and we don’t have to see Winter again. I know this may cause issues for some of you that teach in the school systems with regards to a Summer holiday, but it’s a small price to pay to get rid of Winter, right?….Right???…..All joking aside (am I really joking though?), thank you to everyone for being so understanding and accomodating with regards to lessons being rescheduled due to the weather. I’m hoping the worst of it is now over (as I write this more is falling *sigh*). This months newsletter, like February, is a short one, but the focus is on a student with some exciting acheivements and our Student Of The Month……

A New Instrument & Public Speaking
The month of February has been very exciting for, Liana, my clarinet student. Liana started private lessons with me at the start of the month after playing clarinet in school for two years. Her parents had expressed interest in getting her a new instrument of her own and last week I accompanied them to Long & McQuade in Burlington to pick out Liana’s brand new Yamaha, wooden clarinet! In addition, Liana was very excited to tell me that earlier that week, she had won 1st place in her Grade 8 Public Speaking Festival!!! Congrats, Liana, on your award and your new clarinet!!

Student Of The Month

Our Student Of The Month for February, 2025 is, Kristen!!
Kristen has been studying piano with me and just recently started the Faber Piano Adventures level 2A lesson book, after completing the level 1 book. Kristen has many interests and leads a pretty busy life between school, sports, church activities and her music lessons! Since I’ve been teaching her, she has also learned how to play the theme song from the Super Mario Bros. video games on her own, which in turn leads to her choosing Super Mario stickers some weeks as her choice of stickers for song completions!
Kristen received her framed Student Of The Month certificate, and is featured in this months newsletter as well as on our Facebook and Twitter pages, and on the school website when the newsletter is posted there.
Congrats, Kristen!!
Coda
As I finish up this months newsletter, I’m dreading looking outside to see how much snow has accumulated since I started writing. I’m expecting to see bright sunshine and green grass when I look outside….in a few months….LOL. I’ll keep everyone posted as to how my meeting with Santa and Mother Nature goes (spoiler: I think we are stuck with Winter every year still).
Enjoy the rest of your week!!
